Another old pic from the Fancy Dress Ball. I am pretty sure that the young lady on the right of the scene in Maureen Weedon, who had a hearing problem and worked on the packing bench at Love Lane.
Ken Morrist as a 'Flunky". I bet he wished we had not received this photo.
This one may be on the site already.-- Ernie Chapman making a presentation to Angela Templeman for the best costume at the fancy dress dance at the Paddock restaurant in Chatham.
A dance or dinner dance, probably at the Corn Exchange Rochester.--------I can recognise, Harry Greenland, Arthur Hibbin, Ernie Chapman, John O'Neill, Len Williams and possibly Brian Bull.
A company car from the Kettering branch. It came to Love Lane with Bob Candler when he joined Rochester as a Director. He came down from the Kettering branch to join the commercial side of the business. It was a Mk 5 Cortina and bought from the company by me, when he was given a replacement. I remember that Bob was a very heavy smoker and I had to have the car valeted TWICE before I could remove most of the smell of smoke. GTC.
After Staples.---- In a quickly deminishing market with the changes to the printing trade, Norman `coward and Jay Curtis tried spreading their wings. They put a lot of effort into their studio project and had much success. Eventually Norman worked for Rochester Print Finishers run by myself GTC and Alan Southworth with other ex Staples staff, learning many new skills in folding and finishing. Jay went to Headley Brothers in Ashford, continuing the Studio and Health and Safety work, that he started at Love Lane.
John Rodda and wife Pauline.--- A great picture of lovely people from Bob Dunn.
John Rodda and his daughter Jane, picture about 1988 from Bob Dunn.
An old photo of Tony Styles sent into the site by Coleen Ross. She says her Mother Janet had kept it for many years.
I think it was in the 1980s that there was a competition to design a Christmas card to be produced and used to send out to the customers and friends of Staples Rochester. This is the card that won and was designed by Rod Palmer. It was printed on the Roland Favorit 2 Colour.
